Change of Surface-Electromyography on Temporomandibular Disorders Patients to Treated by Rainbow Therapy

Abstract
|
|
|
Objectives: Rainbow therapy is new treatment on temporomandibular disorders. But the effect of rainbow therapy on temporomandibular disorders wasn’t yet estimated. Therefore, this study was designed to estimate the effect of rainbow therapy on temporomandibular disorders.
Methods: This study carried out on 11 temporomandibular disorders patients that was treated by rainbow therapy. We investigated change of surface-electromyography and questionaries that was made by author.
Results and Conclusions: After rainbow therapy, we obtained the following results :
1. There was high rate improvement on patient complaint and referred pain.
2. Maximum mouth opening increased by mean 5.0±2.0mm.
3. Asymmetry ratio of muscle contraction time and power on anterior temporal muscle were significantly decreased.
